Business Administration Undergraduate Program
The Business Administration Undergraduate Program, conducted under the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Çankaya University Main Campus, is a four-year program excluding the preparatory class. Courses in the department are offered on a semester basis, and the academic year consists of two semesters: Fall Semester and Spring Semester.
Program Objective:
The primary goal of the Business Administration Department is to equip students with up-to-date knowledge and skills that will enable them to establish a business and manage all or specific functions of an organization professionally at both national and international levels. The program aims to foster entrepreneurial competencies, provide an understanding of the economic and legal environments in which businesses operate, and allow students to specialize in specific areas of business administration. Accordingly, students are expected to acquire sufficient knowledge and skills related to fundamental business functions, develop the ability to work effectively in teams, and reach a level of foreign language proficiency that allows them to operate internationally. Additionally, enhancing students’ ability to effectively use information systems in business processes and supporting their motivation for lifelong learning are among the program’s key objectives.
Course Planning and Academic Advising:
Each student is assigned an academic advisor at the beginning of the academic year, and, as far as possible, the same advisor continues to monitor the student’s academic progress from the first year until graduation. Academic advisors not only oversee students’ academic development but also guide them on social and personal matters when needed.
Program Outcomes:
Graduates of the program are able to identify business problems, collect data, analyze it using quantitative and qualitative methods, and interpret the results. The program also aims to improve students’ English proficiency. Through case studies on successful businesses, teamwork, and presentations, the learning process is enriched with practical applications. Furthermore, elective courses focusing on the effective use of information technologies in business are offered, while software tools relevant to the topics are actively integrated into compulsory courses. In this way, students gain both theoretical and practical competence, becoming well-equipped individuals for academic and professional life.
Applied Learning:
Applied education holds a significant place in the Business Administration Department. In this context, the Field Study (MAN 499) course offered to senior students enables them to develop projects addressing real business problems in cooperation with partner organizations, under the supervision of academic advisors. In addition, through Simulation Courses, students work in teams to manage a virtual company, make strategic decisions, and adjust their business plans based on the outcomes. Thus, they have the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in practice, experience decision-making processes, and strengthen their professional competencies.
Career Opportunities:
Graduates of the Business Administration Undergraduate Program have access to a wide range of employment opportunities across various sectors. They take on professional roles in auditing and consultancy firms, banks, insurance companies, and in departments such as marketing, advertising, production, accounting, finance, project management, and human resources within private enterprises. Moreover, graduates can work in public institutions as specialists, assistant specialists, auditors, inspectors, and managers. Those who wish to pursue an academic career have the opportunity to continue with master’s and doctoral programs.
Collaboration and Industry Integration:
The Business Administration Department maintains strong collaborations with Organized Industrial Zones and various sectoral companies. Within the scope of these collaborations, students take an active role in projects developed to meet the needs of businesses and conduct field studies under the supervision of academic staff. This enables them to integrate theoretical knowledge with real-world business practices, enrich their professional experience, and prepare for professional life in a more competent and confident manner.
